  Introduction The Mughal Empire, one of the most powerful and influential dynasties in Indian history, ruled over the Indian subcontinent for more than three centuries (1526–1857). Known for its rich cultural heritage, architectural marvels, and administrative brilliance, the Mughal Empire left an indelible mark on India’s history. Origins and Foundation The Mughal Empire was founded by  Babur , a descendant of Timur (from his father’s side) and Genghis Khan (from his mother’s side).
